No Guts No Glory

A little while ago I told you about the hermitage
and the magnificent exposition they had on Alexander the Great.
And the amazing history of the building.

Well guess what there is a new exposition that has opend
this very weekend and its a must see.

First of all this expo for me is a dream come true as
I always dream of this type of artwork and making
a masterpiece in this style.

Religion comes with many challenges however religion
has given the world also so much beauty.
In this case the orthodox church provides us with the beauty.

The expo

Splendour and Glory

The hermitage website explains it as follows:

They will provide the first overview in the Netherlands of the
time-honoured spiritual and artistic traditions of the Russian Orthodox Church.
Religion has always been a big part of the Russia’s folklore however
seeing pieces like the ones presented in this expo makes you understand
their world a bit more.

There are over 300 pieces icons, frescos, robes etc.
Not only will you learn about art you will also learn about the history
of the orthodox church from its origins to date.
Witness the wealth of over 500 centuries and dream.
